2/15/09: The board of L.O.S.T. want to
thank the 157 shooters who took a chance on the weather on Friday the
13th and came out and shot the season opener at Cajun Elite. Thanks also
goes out to Stephen and Kim for setting a good eye opener course for us.
Thanks also goes out to Brad Duhon and Billy Fontenot with Tiburon and
Keith Badeau with Trussco for the hamburgers and to John Mire with Chet
Morrison for providing the refreshments for all the shooters at no cost
to the shooters.
Many of you may have seen the golf cart
at the shoot which had the L.O.S.T. logo on it. It is a used electric
cart that was purchased by L.O.S.T. as a funds raising item. Starting at
the March shoot at G.O.L. we will begin selling raffle tickets and will
give it away at the season ending championship shoot at Wilderness Gun
Club in October. Price for each raffle ticket will be at the unheard
price of $5.00 a ticket. 1,000 tickets will be sold. The cart was
refurbished by Doug Mellen at
Liberty Golf
Carts for free. Doug and his crew believe in what L.O.S.T. is doing
and did the refurbish as a gift to L.O.S.T. Thanks Doug and crew,
awesome job!!!!
The L.O.S.T. logo stickers on the cart
were also donated by Vic Vicknair of Street Designs in Crowley. Thanks
Vic, another awesome job!!! Vic also does the sponsorship board that
will be displayed at each shoot starting in March.
So far we have received 2 sponsorships
for 2009. Production Fire and Safety is a Bronze Sponsor and HB Rentals
has been a Platinum Sponsor for the last 3 years. Thank you both for
helping sponsor the Championship Shoot with your donation. Anyone who
would like to be a sponsor or donate door prizes please contact one of
the board members for information. We could use the help in making this
our best year ever.
The top shooter of the day was Brad Kidd
Jr. with a score of 97. Second place shooter was Cory Kruse with a 96.
Good shooting guys. If anybody does not know Brad and Cory, they are
both ranked in the top 20 in the USA and are both are on a committee of
L.O.S.T. If you are having trouble with a target just ask them for a
little help and I am sure they will be more than willing to help you out
since both are very good qualified instructors. Thanks Brad and Cory for
helping with L.O.S.T., that speaks that we must be doing something
right.
